The Monthly Strava Challenges are complete for 2026.

Monthly Strava Challenges for 2026
Instead of monthly draw prizes as in the past, they will be cumulative, and awarded at the end of season wrap-up
The Challenges are also posted on our Facebook Page

February Challenge

The course for February will be 10K and will start from the beginning of Vista. Remember to watch for skiers at the junctions and adjust your speed accordingly.
Here is the route:
Start at the beginning of Vista (just after the top of the hill).
Take Vista to the Black Bear junction. Turn right onto Black Bear and then take the first left to connect onto the upper part of Bear Cub. Continue on Bear Cub to McGillivary Lake trail and ski up to the junction with Blue Grouse.
Turn left onto Blue Grouse, then right on Chickadeee and right again onto Raven Ramble. At the end of Raven Ramble, take Sigges shortcut to Otter loop. Stay right on Otter loop to return back to McGillivary Lake Trail. Turn left.
Stay on MLT to the 5-way junction and then turn right onto Whiskey Jack. At the junction with EnGarge, turn left and then left again back onto MLT.
Stay on MLT just to the junction with Black Bear and head down the way you came up - Bear Cub to where you can join back in with Black Bear and then left onto Vista and back to the start.

January Challenge

The first Strava Challenge starts on January 1, 2026 and runs to January 31st, 2026. For this challenge, we will be picking up where we left off last year, with the same course that was used for the March Challenge. This is approximately 5K. The February Challenge will be a 10K route, so you can get prepared for the T-Rex in March!
This year, the two Strava Challenges are also part of the Individual Challenges. If you complete the challenge during the designated month (make sure you make your Strava public), you will also be entered into the random draw for that month (given out at the year-end wrap up).
So, if you did the March Challenge last year, see if you can improve your time...or just do it for fun and change up your regular route. Your time doesn't matter (unless you want it to!) - it's all about participation!
Here is the route:
  • Start at the 5-way junction (junction of Moose Track and McGillivray Lake Trail) and follow the Whiskey Jack trail (down towards En Garde).
  • At En Garde turn right and climb up to Phil's Way.
  • Turn right up Phil's Way then keep left onto Blue Grouse and continue on to Nut Hatch.
  • At the end of Nuthatch, turn right onto Raven Ramble, then right on Chickadee, then right onto Blue Grouse back towards Foxtrot.
  • A final left turn onto Fox Trot and follow it back down to the start at the 5-way junction.
  • (Note that the course ends well before the 5-way junction, so you have time to slow down before the intersection.)
